Alexandrite is known as "chameleon stone" because of its color changing property. It was discovered in Russia around 1830 on the birthday of  Czar Alexander II and hence  named after him. Nowadays we are getting it from Sri Lanka, Brazil, Zimbabwe, Burma  Southern Tanzania and India. 

Alexandrite is a hard stone , it’s 8.5 on Mohs scale. It can be cleaned with a soft brush and warm, soapy water.it is also known as it brings happiness,success and love . Alexandrite is found in different kind of cuts , it is found in Round Cut, Princess Cut, Emerald Cut, Cushion Cut , Heart, etc.
